• Germantown Train Station Was Rebuilt Using Its Original Plans After it Was Destroyed by Fire in 1978 (mocoshow.com) — Germantown's historic MARC train station, now a busy commuter hub with a local coffee shop, serves more than 800 weekday riders on the Brunswick Line. The article traces how the 1891 Ephraim Baldwin–designed station, destroyed by arson in 1978, was carefully rebuilt in 1987 on its original site, preserving much of its architectural character with a few modern tweaks.
   

• ICE Lodges Detainer for Man Charged in Fatal I-270 Crash That Killed Mother and Daughter (mocoshow.com) — A Germantown man is facing serious charges after police say he drove the wrong way on I-270 near Democracy Boulevard on August 29, causing a head-on crash that killed a mother and daughter and injured two others. Federal immigration officials have placed a detainer on him as he remains in custody, while Maryland State Police continue investigating impairment and crash details.
