Two People Hospitalized After MoCo Bus Carrying 5 Students Rear-Ended: MCFRS

Authorities said a total of eight people were aboard the bus, including five students, when the collision took place in Damascus.

DAMASCUS, MD — Several people, including five students, were involved in a school bus crash early Friday in Damascus.

The collision occurred just after 7 a.m. near the intersection of Woodfield and Greenel roads.

Pete Piringer, spokesperson with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said the school bus was rear-ended by a car.

At the time of the collision, a total of eight people were aboard the school bus: five students, two bus aides and the driver.

Piringer said all eight were evaluated at the site by first responders, noting students suffered no injuries. However, the two bus aides were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.

No details were provided on the vehicle that struck the school bus.
