GERMANTOWN, MD — Three teenagers were arrested and hit with various charges after a 15-year-old student was robbed at gunpoint inside a bathroom at Northwest High School.
Montgomery County Police said Friday that the robbery involved two 15-year-old students, adding that one of the teens demanded money from the other while pointing a gun. The two teens parted ways after cash was handed over.
Officers were called to the school, located in the 13500 block of Richter Farm Road, around 12:30 p.m. Thursday after the robbed student reported the incident.
Following an initial investigation at the school, authorities flagged four boys near the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Wisteria Drive, including one individual who matched the description of the wanted teenager.
Of the four teenagers, only two were identified: 17-year-old Khalil Ingram and 18-year-old Tayvion Williams.
Police said in a release that when officers approached the group, the 15-year-old wanted in connection with the robbery separated from the individuals, a move that prompted his arrest.
Officials said investigating officers approached the trio only after a search of the 15-year-old failed to return the firearm used in the robbery.
Ingram caught the attention of police when he momentarily walked into a wooded area before returning to the group. A search of the area later led to the discovery of a loaded P80 handgun with an extended magazine.
Additional investigation determined Williams had possessed the gun.
The fourth teen was questioned but later released without being charged, police said.
Charged as a juvenile, the 15-year-old student is facing counts of armed robbery, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony or violent crime, handgun on person, possession of a regulated firearm by a person under the age of 21, and possession of a firearm without a serial number.
He was remanded to the Cheltenham Youth Detention Center at 11003 Frank Tippett Road.
Both Ingram and Williams were charged as adults and are facing the following charges:

Ingram and Williams are being held at the Montgomery County Processing Unit while awaiting a bond hearing.
