• Respiratory Illnesses On The Rise: See What's Circulating, Find Vaccines In MD (patch.com) — With flu and other respiratory illnesses expected to rise this season, Germantown residents can get vaccinated close to home at sites like American Diversity Group on Middlebrook Road and Sally Ride Elementary on Seneca Crossing Drive. State and federal health officials report low but increasing respiratory activity and urge Marylanders to use county clinics, pharmacies, and community partners for timely flu and COVID-19 shots.
   

• Roof Collapses During Darnestown/Germantown House Fire, Five Adults Displaced (mocoshow.com) — A serious house fire on Seneca Farm Lane in the Darnestown/Germantown area caused the roof to collapse and displaced five adults, though everyone and three dogs escaped without injury. About 65 Montgomery County firefighters battled the blaze in a hydrant-free area using tanker trucks, temporarily withdrawing when the roof failed before reentering to fully extinguish remaining hot spots.
