GERMANTOWN, MD — A family of four was displaced late Monday after a kitchen fire broke out in their Germantown townhome, authorities said.

At the scene, investigators found two adults and two children, all of whom suffered no injuries during the incident.

Piringer said the fire was accidental, noting investigators traced its origin to an air fryer that was left on the stovetop with a burner on.

Early estimates put the fire damage at about $70,000, according to Piringer.
