Saturday mornings at BlackRock Center for the Arts are full of rhythm with the Washington Conservatory of Music, and there is still room to join. Afrobeat and West African Drumming, 9 to 10 a.m.: explore West African rhythms and Afrobeat through group drumming. Rhythm Kids: World Percussion, 10 to 11 a.m.: percussion, songs, movement and musical games from around the globe. Introduction to Percussion, 11 a.m. to noon: drums, mallet instruments and more, a strong start for future band, orchestra or drumline. For young musicians, no experience needed.
