CCACC Welcomes Its New Board of Directors

Continuing our Board Member Spotlight Series, we are pleased to introduce two new members of the CCACC Board of Directors: Dr. Chunyan Yang and Dr. Jingli Yang. With distinguished backgrounds in education and school psychology, technology innovation, and Earth remote sensing, they bring extensive experience in academic research, organizational leadership, and community collaboration. Their diverse expertise and shared commitment to community will bring valuable perspectives to CCACC.

Dr. Chunyan Yang: Empowering the Next Generation Through Education and Technology

Chunyan Yang, Ph.D., NCSP, is an Associate Professor of School Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she directs the Risk, Resilience, and Culture Lab. She is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Before joining the University of Maryland, Dr. Yang held faculty positions at the University of California, Santa Barbara and the University of California, Berkeley, and previously worked as a school psychologist in a public school district. Her experience across K–12 schools, higher education, and community settings has shaped her commitment to connecting research and educational practice with the needs of children, families, and communities.

Dr. Yang’s research spans social-emotional learning, school climate and safety, bullying and cyberbullying prevention, student and educator well-being, and risk and resilience among children and youth. More recently, she has explored how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are reshaping the ways young people learn, communicate, build relationships, and develop social-emotional competencies.

At the University of Maryland, Dr. Yang serves as Faculty Director of Co-Learn Code & Mind, a university–district–community partnership involving the University of Maryland, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), and local community organizations. The initiative integrates robotics, artificial intelligence literacy, technology learning, and social-emotional development to expand educational opportunities for young people.

As a member of the CCACC Board of Directors, Dr. Yang hopes to contribute her experience in education, child and adolescent development, technology, and community partnerships. She is particularly interested in strengthening connections among schools, universities, families, and communities while creating more opportunities for young people to learn, grow, engage with their communities, and develop a strong sense of cultural belonging.

Dr. Jingli Yang: Connecting Technology, Leadership, and Community

Dr. Jingli Yang is the Founder and Principal of ERT/Entarian and an accomplished entrepreneur, strategist, and Earth remote sensing scientist. Under her leadership, the company has supported science, engineering, and technology missions for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), NASA, and the Air Force Research Laboratory.

Dr. Yang holds a Ph.D. in Biogeography and Remote Sensing from the University of Maryland and has more than 20 years of experience in Earth remote sensing, science data systems, and geospatial interoperability. Prior to founding ERT, she held increasingly responsible technical and management positions at companies including Raytheon and Space Imaging EOSAT. She later served as CEO of ERT for 25 years, building a successful science and technology organization known for its customer-focused and employee-oriented culture.

Beyond her professional career, Dr. Yang has been actively engaged in academic and public service. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the University of Maryland, College Park and is active in the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the American Geophysical Union (AGU). She previously served as President of the Maryland Space Business Roundtable, Chair of the NASA Goddard Contractors’ Association, and a member of the Maryland Federal Facility Advisory Board.

With extensive experience in scientific research, technology leadership, strategic management, and cross-sector collaboration, Dr. Yang brings valuable expertise and a technology-focused perspective to the CCACC Board of Directors.

Coming from the fields of education, psychology, science, and technology, Dr. Chunyan Yang and Dr. Jingli Yang further broaden the range of expertise represented on the CCACC Board. CCACC looks forward to their contributions as they work alongside fellow Board members and staff to advance education, cultural heritage, youth development, community engagement, and the organization’s continued growth.
