Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Germantown Holds Ladybug Launch
Students celebrated the environment by releasing hundreds of beneficial bugs in their schoolyard for Earth Day

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Germantown have caught the environmental bug! On April 20, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing hundreds of ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Students were dressed for the occasion, wearing tie-dye T-shirts and ladybug hats they created. Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Chesterbrook Academy Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
