Contact-Free Pickup Service Now Offered At Montgomery Libraries
Montgomery County Public Libraries is now offering curbside pickup of items put on hold.
GERMANTOWN, MD — After months of being shuttered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Montgomery County Public Libraries is now offering a contact-free pickup service for library materials put on hold.
The free service, dubbed "Holds to Go," is available at all MCPL branches, except Kensington's Noyles and Silver Spring's Long Branch libraries.
Library card holders can reserve items online or over the phone. Requests are limited to 100 items per customer.

Customers will receive a text message, email, or phone call when their orders are ready for pickup.

At their scheduled appointment times, residents can pick up their bagged materials from tables inside the branch vestibules or just outside the front doors.
"We're so excited our customers can once again get the physical books they want," said MCPL Director Anita Vassallo. "The process is easy while being as safe as possible for our customers and staff."
