Memorial Day Weekend Event - Flags For Our Heroes 

A Giant Display of 756 American flags from Friday, May 22nd through Monday morning, May 25th
Formal inauguration May 23rd at 11:00 a.m., then a ceremony at the Peace Pole in the park. Unusable flag retirement ceremony conducted by local Scout troops on May 24th at dusk.
Free and open to the public, 24 hours a day (lighted at night). Accessible by wheelchair. 
Anyone can sponsor a flag to honor his or her “hero,” for $50. There are also sponsorship packages for businesses and organizations. Proceeds will be used by the Gaithersburg Rotary Foundation for local and international projects.
