Stonestreet presenting Civil War medical practices; Songs of Deliverance performingperiod music with Hap Allison (who taught at Wootton High School for 17 years); living historians and reenactors demonstrating various aspects of Civil Warlife; the Rockville Science Center showing modern technological advances; and more.
10:30am, Beall-Dawson House: Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) Color Guard parade to the Red Brick Courthouse.
11am, Red Brick Courthouse: Peerless Rockville Historic Preservation, Ltd. presents Benjamin Franklin Cooling, Ph.D., to talk about Early's campaign and the Battle of Fort Stevens, Grand Courtroom. President Abraham Lincoln visited Ft Stevens over the two day engagement, the first president while in office to come under direct enemy fire.
Noon, Red Brick Courthouse:Wreath-laying at the Confederate Statue in honor and memory of all those who fought in the Civil War and the citizens who were caught in harm's way during the terrible conflict.
12:30pm, Red Brick Courthouse: Walking Tour lead by Eileen McGuckian of Underground Railroad and Civil War Rockville that ends back at the Beall-Dawson
House.
2:30 pm, Beall-Dawson House: Talk by Michael Virts about Montgomery County sites affected by Early's advance and retreat.
