You could say they’ve got cross-genre appeal — Paula Abdul, The Oak Ridge Boys and Anne Murray have recorded a Buskin & Batteau tune.  But on Thursday, folk balladeers David Buskin and Robin Batteau will be doing the other thing they’ve become known for: injecting punch lines between the strums.

Buskin & Batteau are booked for a Third Thursday Bistro series at BlackRock Center for the Arts, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20.  The guys struck gold as superstar jingle writers during the 1980s, but they now split their time writing songs, helping nonprofits and hosting their radio show WPKN-FM and WPKN.org.
