Germantown Commercial Robberies At Shopping Center Lead To Arrest
A suspect is facing charges after robberies at two stores at the same shopping center on different dates.

GERMANTOWN, MD — A man is facing charges after robberies on separate occasions at the same shopping center in Germantown, according to Montgomery County Police.
The robberies all happened at the Cloppers Mill Village shopping center in the 18000 block of Mateny Road. Two of the robberies were at the Dollar Tree store on two dates, and another happened at the Dunkin' store.
The first was a strong-arm robbery around 8:31 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Police say the suspect went to the counter with merchandise. While an employee was helping another customer, the suspect allegedly pushed the employee out of the way, leading to a struggle. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.

The second incident at the Dollar Tree was around 8:23 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18. According to police, the suspect was trying to purchase an item, reached behind the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing.
The Dunkin' robbery happened around 8:38 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20. Police say the suspect paid for a food item and stole money when an employee opened the cash register. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Detectives identified the suspect after reviewing surveillance footage and getting a suspect description. Hakeem Morris, 32, was arrested Monday and charged with robbery and other theft-related charges. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
