Germantown Library Reopening With Upgrades After Closing In April For A Renovation
The Germantown Library is reopening Saturday with new chairs, water fountains, bathrooms, and ADA accessibility upgrades.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Readers in Germantown have a reason to celebrate, as the Germantown Library is reopening its doors to patrons Saturday for the first time in over a year and a half. After operating on curbside system throughout the pandemic, the library closed in April for a renovation project and customers were asked to use nearby libraries instead.
“We are so excited to reopen Germantown Library to its community members, who we know have been anxiously anticipating this day,” said MCPL Director Anita Vassallo. “I hope they will be as pleased as we are about all the new refurbishments.”
The upgrades include:

Whether you are frequent user or have never stepped through the door, I encourage all residents to ‘check out’ the local library in your community.”
Other Montgomery County libraries opened this summer for browsing. They opened in waves based on location, and all had reopened by early July.
