50-Year-Old Woman Hit By Car In Germantown Has Died: Police

GERMANTOWN, MD — A 50-year-old woman has died after getting hit by a car in Germantown Wednesday evening, according to authorities.

At about 8:17 p.m., Montgomery County Police were called to the intersection of Middlebrook Road and Ridgecrest Drive for the report of a pedestrian-involved collision.

Joyce Asare Brown, of Germantown, was crossing Middlebrook Road at Ridgecrest Drive when she was hit by a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta that was traveling east on Middlebrook Road, police said. Brown later died at a local hospital.

The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta — 20-year-old Christian Alexander Martinez of Gaithersburg — was also taken to a hospital, but with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they are conducting an investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
