Husband, Wife Gravely Injured in Germantown Domestic Shooting: Police

Montgomery County Police were called to a house after an argument Sunday; two hours later, the husband reportedly shot his wife and himself.

GERMANTOWN, MD — A Germantown husband and wife are in the hospital with gunshot wounds after an argument spiraled into violence once police left the home, authorities say.

Montgomery County Police were first called to a house in the 19500 block of Frederick Road just after 6 a.m. Sunday, when a man told officers he wanted his wife removed from their home. Police talked with both the husband and wife; officers said the couple had argued but there was no physical altercation.

The wife said she would be leaving the home shortly and the officers left the residence.

About two hours later, police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called back to the residence after authorities received a 9-1-1 call from the wife saying she had been shot by her husband, who then shot himself.

Police have not released the names of the couple.

Both the husband and wife were taken to area hospitals suffering from life-threatening injuries. The weapon used was recovered on the scene.

Detectives continue to investigate this double shooting as a domestic-related event.
