Man Shot Outside MoCo Apartment Complex, Gunman Remains At Large

DAMASCUS, MD — A man was shot in the leg outside a Damascus apartment complex Tuesday night after a gunman opened fire as he and another person were leaving a building.
The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Damascus Gardens apartment complex in the 9800 block of Bethesda Church Road, Montgomery County police said in a Friday news release.
According to police, the victim and another individual were leaving an apartment building when an unidentified suspect fired a single shot. The victim was struck in the leg and taken to a local hospital.

The suspect fled before officers arrived and has not been identified.
Police described the suspect as a man dressed entirely in black, including a black short-sleeved shirt, black pants and black slide sandals worn with white socks. He was also reported to have a bag or other covering over his head.

Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about the suspect to come forward.
