GERMANTOWN, MD — An acupuncturist was arrested after police say he sexually assaulted a female client at his Montgomery County practice last year.
Sang Kim, 50, is the owner of Acupuncture Cure in Poolesville and has been charged with a fourth-degree sex offense, Montgomery County Police said Wednesday. Kim, who has practiced Eastern medicine since 2008, has a master's degree in oriental medicine and acupuncture and a Ph.D. in oriental medicine philosophy, according to Acupuncture Cure's website.
Police say the incident happened at 20010 Fisher Ave. in August 2019. The victim told authorities that she had an appointment with Kim; and while she was there, Kim instructed her to take off her clothes, with the exception of underwear, and put on a medical gown that opened in the front. While on the exam table, Kim inappropriately touched the victim without her consent, according to authorities.
