Priority graduation application deadlines, summer class registration opening, and a representative from USG take place on campus this week.
It’s Crunch Time! Welcome to another week’s Montgomery College Crunch Time for Germantown campus. Students are on the final stretch of the spring semester, midterm grades are in and it’s time to start thinking about what classes you’ll take next academic year.
Today is the last day of priority advising and counseling for students with 30 – 44 credits, starting Monday, April 4 priority will be given to students with 15 – 29 credits earned. Today is the deadline for the priority summer graduation application, applying for graduation is easy and more information on graduating MC with a degree or certificate can be found here.
Everyone wants their ideal class schedule when registering for next semester’s classes. On Monday, summer class registration opens. If you’re thinking about taking a summer class be sure to register early on to ensure your place in the class. MC is a crowded place and classes fill up fast, so why not get a jump on the crowd? The counseling and advising office is a wealth of information if you’re uncertain as to which classes you need to take to further your degree at MC, so take advantage of the priority advising and counseling week.

Are you thinking about transferring to a 4-year university from MC? On Tuesday Victoria Ortega, a representative from the Universities at Shady Grove, will be on campus to meet with students and answer questions about transferring and degree options offered at the Universities at Shady Grove. Ortega will be on campus from 10 am to 1 pm, so stop by the Student Services Center to get your questions answered.
If you’re getting tired of all the academic deadlines and policies, music is a great way to alleviate the stress. On Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, MC Rockville is hosting its annual ‘MC Composers Concert’ in the recital hall on Rockville campus. Musical works from students, staff and faculty will be performed. MC is known for it’s diverse student population so this will be a great chance to broaden your musical interests and a chance to relax from the hectic end of the semester.

If you’re at Rockville campus a little early and are looking for something to do, check out the ‘Earth: Fragile Planet’ art exhibit in the CAT Gallery. Multimedia works including videos, comics and 3D art with a worldly theme from the Society of Illustrators in New York will be on display for the duration of April.
