Randolph Leads Germantown Lady Panthers
The Lady Panthers ended the summer with an 18-2 record.
The Germantown Lady Panthers basketball team has had an eventful summer to say the least.
The Lady Panthers went unbeaten during an event at Penn State earlier this year and recorded an 18-2 mark this summer. The Panthers also played recently at AAU Nationals in Orlando and at U.S. Junior Nationals in Washington, D.C.
Founded in 2000 by head coach Milton Kimbrough, the organization boasts some of the area’s top players. Montgomery County public school standouts such as Carla Batchelor (Northwest), Colleen Marshall (Gaithersburg), Sarafina Arthur-Williams (Churchill) and Kelli Prange (Damascus) are on the team.

But the Lady Panthers’ unquestioned leader is Good Counsel rising senior Faith Randolph. In fact, the Panthers finished 6-1 at U.S. Junior Nationals thanks in part to Randolph’s stellar performance.
“She lit it up,” said Kimbrough. “She averaged about 22 points for the tournament and led the way.”

Randolph, a 5-foot-10 guard, is among the nation’s top players in the Class of 2012 and is ranked No. 27 by ESPN HoopGurlz.
“Faith is a major talent,” Lisa Bodine, a national evaluator for ESPN HoopGurlz told Patch. “She’s a natural born shooter that can play combo [guard] but is most effective as a shooting guard.”
Randolph has verbally committed to play at University of Virginia.
