Confederate General Jubal A. Early's
seven days of terror as he traveled through Montgomery County from victory at
the Battle of Monocacy to eventual defeat at Ft. Stevens. Early's troops camped at Summit Hall farm en route to
attack Washington. Early and his officers 'invited' themselves to dinner as his men stripped the farm of anything they could
carry or eat, and tearing up fences for firewood. Rain or shine, co-sponsored by Heritage Montgomery and H.
Fraser Clayton.
