5-Vehicle Pile-Up I-270 Injures 9, Temporarily Closes Lanes
Six children among the passengers; authorities say no life-threatening injuries.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD - Nine people were injured and taken to the hospital after a five-vehicle pileup Sunday night five-car pileup Sunday night on I-270 near Clarksburg Road in Montgomery County. Six children were among the dozen drivers and passengers involved in the crash.
Crews responded to the scene around 9:45 p.m. between Route 121 and Route 109, where a mass casualty incident was declared. Montgomery County Fire Department PIO Pete Piringer wrote on Twitter that none of the injuries was considered life-threatening.
One person who needed to be extricated from a car was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, NBC Washington reports.

All lanes were closed on northbound I-270 north of exit 18/Route 121/Clarksburg Road. Drivers should expect delays.
