SunTrust Bank ATM Armed Robber Arrested: Police
A Germantown man was forced at gunpoint to withdraw cash at a SunTrust Bank ATM; tips led police to the suspect.
GERMANTOWN, MD — A Germantown man has been charged with forcing a man to withdraw cash from an ATM at gunpoint after tips from the public identified the suspect shown in surveillance photos, Montgomery County Police said Friday.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Brenden Lamont Dashiell Jr., 30, of Cherry Bend Court in Germantown, and arrested him at his home on Oct. 19.
Dashiell Jr. was taken to the Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with armed robbery, theft, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The Oct. 2 armed robbery happened shortly before 2 a.m. when police say Dashiell approached a Germantown man in the area of Great Seneca Highway and Grey Eagle Court. The victim told officers he was walking on the sidewalk of southbound Great Seneca Highway near Grey Eagle Court when the suspect with a handgun ordered the victim to withdraw money from a nearby bank ATM.
Dashiell reportedly forced the victim to walk to the SunTrust Bank at 12605 Wisteria Drive and withdraw an undisclosed amount of cash from the ATM, police say. The victim gave the suspect the money and the robber fled on foot.

Investigators obtained surveillance photographs from the bank's ATM and shared them with the public on Oct. 6.
The tipster who provided information to investigators regarding Dashiell Jr. is eligible for a cash reward from Crime Solvers of Montgomery County.
