Toddler Seriously Burned In Boyds Fire
A 4-year-old boy suffered serious burns when living quarters above a Boyds garage caught on fire, authorities say.

BOYDS, MD — A 4-year-old boy suffered serious burns in a fire in what authorities describe as makeshift living quarters above a garage building in Boyds. The fire at 16700 Barnsville Road was reported Sunday afternoon, said Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer.
Rescue workers treated several people, including the injured toddler. The child was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Piringer said. The area had no fire hydrants, do fire crews had to use tanker trucks to bring water to the scene.
The fire burned through the floor of the living quarters, Piringer said on Twitter. Investigators believe fireworks may have started the blaze, which caused $20,000 damage.
