Tutor Charged In Sexual Abuse Of Youth, Police Fear More Victims
A religious tutor has been charged in the sexual abuse of a student, and Montgomery Co. Police worry there are more victims of the teacher.
GERMANTOWN, MD — A religious tutor has been accused of sexually abusing a student, and Montgomery County Police said they are afraid there are more victims who have yet to come forward.
Adi Yousef Najjar, 65, of Germantown has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a minor and fourth-degree sex offenses. Detectives urge anyone who may be a victim of sexual abuse by Najjar to contact them. (See a photo of the suspect below.)
On June 4, police and the Montgomery County Child Welfare Services began investigating Najjar following the report of a sexual abuse of a minor. The assaults reportedly occurred between September 2022 and June 2024, when Najjar was the victim’s Islamic tutor.

Najjar turned himself in to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit on Aug. 21, and he was released on an unsecured personal bond.
