1 Pedestrian Dead, 1 Hospitalized After Car Leaves Road In Glen Burnie: Police
One pedestrian is dead and another is hospitalized after a car left the road in Glen Burnie, police said. Officers arrested the driver.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — One pedestrian died and another went to shock trauma after a car left the roadway Wednesday in Glen Burnie, county police announced. Officers said they arrested the driver.
Authorities identified the late pedestrian as Arielle Starr Dryden-Bera, 22, and the accused man as Austin Keith Williams Seagraves, 19. Both are from Glen Burnie.
The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. on Aquahart Road near Oakwood Road. The two pedestrians were walking along a sidewalk on Aquahart Road at the time of the collision. Police said a 2003 Toyota was heading east near the intersection when it lost control, rotated and left the roadway.

The car hit a curb, crossed the sidewalk and continued spinning through a manicured area of shrubbery. Officers said the Toyota hit both pedestrians in the process.
The car came to a rest in a parking lot in the 700 block of Aquahart Road, authorities said.

Police said three of the Toyota's occupants immediately ran away from the car. The two passengers returned right away, however.
Officers said the driver continued to run away and later returned.
Multiple independent witnesses identified the accused man as the Toyota driver, a press release said.
Authorities said they consulted with the Anne Arundel County States Attorney’s Office and charged the suspect with:
- Driver failure to remain at the scene involving death
- Driver fail to remain at scene involving serious bodily injury
- Failure to render aid
- Failure to provide information
- Criminally negligent manslaughter
- Negligent manslaughter
The driver was not hurt.
Medics pronounced the late pedestrian dead on the scene, the release said. Officials took her body to the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will determine the exact cause of her death.
The other pedestrian went to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Police said he is getting treatment for serious injuries.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating. The agency asked anybody with information to call (410) 222-8573.
