$100K Damage Caused By Glen Burnie House Fire

A Glen Burnie house fire caused $100,000 damage and an Anne Arundel County firefighter was injured Monday night.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A family of three has been displaced from their seriously damaged house and an Anne Arundel County firefighter was injured in a fire at a Glen Burnie home Monday night. Firefighters were called about 10 p.m. to a fire in a home in the 100 block of Whip Lane in Country Club Estates.

Authorities say the first firefighters to arrive saw flames coming from the front window and the rear of the one-story, single-family home. Thirty-five firefighters brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

The Red Cross is assisting two adults and a child who were displaced as a result of the fire.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation unit. Damage is estimated at $100,000.
