2 Dead In Separate Glen Burnie Weekend Crashes: Police
A motorcyclist and a bicycle rider were killed in separate weekend accidents in Glen Burnie, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A motorcyclist and a bicycle rider were killed in separate weekend crashes in Glen Burnie, according to Anne Arundel County Police. Both victims' names were released Monday morning. The first fatal accident happened about 2 p.m. on May 4 when a KTM 690 Enduro motorcycle was eastbound on Hospital Drive approaching Foxchase Drive and the driver lost control.
Authorities say the driver — Colin Wayne Ramsey, 21, of the 8300 block of Elvaton Road in Millersville — and his motorcycle slid and came to rest without striking anyone or anything else. Ramsey, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with critical life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.
Excessive speed and reckless driving may have contributed to the crash, police said in a news release. The case will be reviewed by the state's attorney.

In the second deadly crash, Lennell Vernon Boone, 55, of the 7900 block of Caldwell Road in Pasadena died when his bicycle collided with a car. Police say the accident happened at 11:30 a.m. on May 5 at Ritchie Highway and Americana Circle. An Acura sedan driven by Robert William Sobik, 29, of the 2300 block of Golden Chapel Road in Odenton, was northbound on Ritchie Highway facing a steady green signal.
Boone rode onto Ritchie Highway from Marley Station Mall while facing a steady red signal, police say. The bicyclist crossed Ritchie Highway toward American Circle in the path of the Acura and was struck by the car. Boone was taken by ambulance to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries, where he died later that day.

Sobik was not injured, and remained on the scene, officers said. The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be error on the part of the bicyclist. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash. The case will be reviewed by the state's attorney.
