2 Separate Traffic Stops In Glen Burnie Lead To Arrests: Police
In both incidents, the two drivers and a passenger were in possession of handguns, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
GLEN BURNIE, MD — On Nov. 19 at approximately 10:20 p.m., Eastern District detectives observed a driver commit multiple traffic violations. A traffic stop was made on Hospital Drive at Fox Spring Drive in Glen Burnie involving the suspected vehicle. While speaking with the driver, probable cause was established to search the vehicle. The vehicle search yielded a loaded black Glock 17 9mm handgun. The driver, 21-year-old Treyvon Darrell Williams of Glen Burnie, was arrested and charged.
On Nov. 20 at approximately 1:41 a.m., Eastern District officers initiated a traffic stop for an equipment violation at Hiddenbrook Drive and Mystic View Turn in Glen Burnie. While speaking with the driver, officers detected an odor of marijuana. The driver and the passenger were asked to exit the vehicle and as the passenger got out of the car, a handgun was observed tucked into the passenger's waistband. A Ruger EC9s 9mm handgun was recovered from the passenger. During a search of the vehicle a second weapon, a Ruger 57 28mm handgun, was located. The driver, 26-year-old Darryl Dewitt Thompson of Glen Burnie, and the passenger, 26-year-old Lauren Ashley Clay of Bethesda, were arrested and charged accordingly.
