400 Pounds Of Marijuana Found In Glen Burnie Man's Van While Traveling On I70 In Indiana

A Glen Burnie man and a Baltimore man were arrested by Indiana deputies after they found 400 pounds of marijuana in their van.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A 27-year-old Glen Burnie man and a Baltimore man, also 27, were found with 400 pounds of marijuana in a van they were traveling in along I-70 in Indiana. Authorities pulled over the van for following another vehicle too closely shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Members of Indiana's Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement team, which is comprised of deputies from Henry and Hancock counties, said in a police report that they observed "leafy plant material" on one of two Maryland men's pants and smelled a "strong odor" of marijuana.

A search of the vehicle uncovered 16 cardboard boxes carrying vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana. Chas Christopher Ashley Brown of Baltimore and Howard Eugene Stevens of Glen Burnie were arrested on preliminary charges of dealing marijuana, the Henry County sheriff's office noted.
