GLEN BURNIE, MD — Officials announced that an accidental fire caused $600,000 in damage to a Glen Burnie home on Sunday. Nobody was hurt, and the two adult occupants escaped after their smoke detectors sounded.

The homeowner called 911 around 2:57 a.m. after their wood stove caused the blaze, a press release said. Crews responded to the 800 block of Nabbs Creek Road to find the 1.5-story house well involved with fire.

Because the flames were so strong, crews attacked the fire from the outside before heading inside. A team of 58 controlled the scene in about an hour, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.
