GLEN BURNIE, MD — Shore United Bank has officially signed on to a lease for its new Glen Burnie location at the Cromwell Business Park.
The bank will close its current Glen Burnie location at 413 Crain Highway and move to Suite 101 at 891 Cromwell Park Drive.
No exact date for the opening was listed. However, officials did indicate the branch is expected to open later this year, possibly sometime in December.
Customers will be informed of the branch's last day at Crain Highway before changes are finalized.
A release issued by Hyatt Commercial stated the relocation will "provide Shore United Bank with a modern banking
environment" while allowing "the bank to maintain its presence serving businesses, property owners, and residents throughout Anne Arundel County."
James Burke, the bank's CEO, told the Baltimore Business Journal that the decision to relocate was rooted in a desire to move away from an abandoned building that was next to its Crain Highway site.
Shore United Bank's Glen Burnie and Crofton locations were both acquired through the bank's 2021 merger with Severn Savings Bank.
For the time being, customers can continue to visit the Crain Highway location Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. The branch is open between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday.
