Bob Bell Ford Donates AED and CPR Training Devices to Glen Burnie Volunteer Fire Company

On Thursday, June 6, 2013, Bob Bell Ford, in partnership with the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association, presented a Little Anne AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Training System to members of the Glen Burnie Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.  JP Bishop, President and Dealer of Bob Bell Ford, also presented a check donation in the amount of $1,000 to Chief Officer Bob Galante.

Representatives from Glen Burnie VFC were on hand to accept the new donation.  The life-like mannequin and AED training system will be used to teach automated external defibrillation and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills to emergency responders and community groups.  The volunteer-run fire company will use the new devices in their community outreach programs as they train local residents in the necessary life-saving skills.

In conjunction with its dealership members, MADA donates CPR training devices to area fire stations, EMS squads, and other charitable organizations.  The devices are provided through a partnership with the National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation.  Since 1975, the Foundation has distributed over 4,600 training units with a value of $3 million in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.  To date, over 2 million people have received training using these devices.   Local organizations may apply for a Resusci-Anne by contacting Katie Jones at MADA, 410.269.1710.
