Armed Teen Found Near Glen Burnie High School, Officers Arrest Suspect: Police

Police said they found a teenager with a loaded gun near Glen Burnie High School. Officers arrested the accused minor.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — County police said they found and arrested a teenager with a loaded handgun Monday near Glen Burnie High School. Officers don't know why the 17-year-old suspect had the gun or if he had any motives.

Authorities did not release the name of the accused minor. This is normal protocol for juveniles charged with most crimes.

Somebody reported the accused male walking with another male near Glen Burnie High School around 3:20 p.m., a press release said.

The school's website said classes dismiss for the day at 3:18 p.m.

The school's student resources officers were notified. Police said the student resource officers quickly found the males, who were nearby but not on the school's property.

Authorities said they conducted a search, found the suspect with the loaded handgun and arrested him without incident.

The other male was not armed, the Anne Arundel County Police Department said. Officers released the second male from the scene.
