Assault, Two Robberies Reported In Glen Burnie: Police

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Anne Arundel County police officers responded to three incidents in two days in Glen Burnie, one assault and two robberies. On March 21 at approximately 1 a.m., a 60-year-old man reported being assaulted by a man who had a knife and through his pants. The victim was sitting on the curb at The Cromwell Shopping Center at 7387 Baltimore and Annapolis Boulevard. After providing a description of the suspect, officers were able to identify him. They arrested Henry James Anderson, 58, and charged him with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, dangerous weapon with intent to injure, concealment of a dangerous weapon and malicious destruction of property.

On March 22 at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the Sun Valley Shopping Center at 7941 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. for a robbery that happened an hour earlier. A 38-year-old woman was in the parking lot at the shopping center when she was approached by a man from behind who pressed a hard object into her back and demanded she hand over her purse. The woman complied and the man took off on foot. Officers searched the area but could not find the suspect. Northern District detectives are investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-6135 or the TipLine.

That same day at approximately 9:50 p.m., officers responded to a call about a robbery involving a citizen in the area of Heritage Hill and Allen Road. A food delivery driver was delivering food at a residence located in the 6400 block of Jefferson Place when he was approached by a man. The suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
