Back To School: AACPS 2021-22 School Calendar

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Anne Arundel County with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

The first day of school for most students in Anne Arundel County is either Sept.8 or Sept. 9 depending upon grade. Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point.

Face coverings will be required this fall for all Anne Arundel County Public Schools students and staff. The mask mandate applies to everybody, even those who have gotten the coronavirus vaccine. Like last year, these policies could change any time before the first day

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Anne Arundel County Public Schools

First Day:

• Wednesday, Sept. 8 (grades 1–5, 6 and 9 only.)
• Thursday, Sept. 9 (Everybody else in grades 1 through 12.)
• Wednesday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 17 (Staggered openings for ECI, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. See the chart at this link.)

Thanksgiving Break:

• Wednesday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 28

Winter Break:

• Friday, Dec. 24 through Sunday Jan. 2

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

• Monday, Jan. 17

Semester Break

• Monday, Jan. 31
• Only students are off. Teachers work this day.

Presidents' Day

• Monday, Feb. 21

Spring Break

• Saturday, April 9 through Monday, April 18

Eid al-Fitr And Professional Development Day

• Tuesday, May 3
• Only students are off. Teachers work this day.

Memorial Day

• Monday, May 30

Last Day For Students

• Tuesday, June 21
