Glen Burnie artist, Mino Re, will be featuring his cast stone sculptures in the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md., on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 5-7, 2012. He will be accompanied by 250 of the nation’s most accomplished craft artists offering their one-of-a-kind handmade creations.
The cast stone sculptures created by Re, an Italian-born artist and engineer, are fashioned for the home or garden from his original designs and interpretations of historic art and sculpture. He draws his inspiration from intricate geometries such as Celtic Knots, fractal art, spirals, paisleys and steampunk patterns.
Before turning to crafts, Re worked in the field of architectural precast concrete and cast stone for over thirty years, designing and engineering solutions for new construction and restoration.
