Brooklyn Heroin Dealer Sentenced To Prison

A Brooklyn man arrested for selling heroin and medical cocaine used as an anesthetic was sentenced to over a decade in prison.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Brooklyn man arrested for selling heroin and medical cocaine used as an anesthetic was sentenced to over a decade in prison. Duriel Lakeem Allen, 31, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute heroin, according to prosecutors.

Allen was one of three people, including two Glen Burnie residents, arrested last year during a recent raid by the Anne Arundel County Heroin Task Force. Officers seized heroin, crack cocaine and cocaine hydrochloride — a form of cocaine used as a local anesthetic in eye, ear, or throat surgeries — from a Glen Burnie house on Dec. 1, 2016.

"Law enforcement will continue to target anyone profiting from the sale of narcotics," said Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams in a statement. "I urge anyone suffering from addiction to turn away from the short term fix sold by a dealer and seek help in resources like our county's Safe Stations program."
