Man Charged With Murder After Body Found Behind Anne Arundel Business: Police

Police charged an Anne Arundel County man with murder. This came after officers said they found a body behind a business.

BROOKLYN, MD — Police announced Wednesday that they arrested an Anne Arundel County man on murder charges.

Officers identified the arrestee as 18-year-old Jaden Kemetrius Crowner of Brooklyn. Authorities said the male victim was Devin Scott Freeman, 19.

Police said they applied for an arrest warrant after they found Freeman's body behind a Brooklyn business last month.

Officers said they spotted the body with apparent trauma in the 4000 block of Ritchie Highway on Feb. 27 around 10 a.m.

The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the case a homicide and said the cause of death was at least one gunshot wound, officials announced on March 1.

Authorities did not speculate when or where the shots were fired.
