Clerk Says 'No' to Would-Be Robber Who Flees
A liquor store employee refused to hand over cash to a robber and instead turned on the burglar alarm.
A liquor store employee in Severn firmly refused to do as a would-be robber asked during a Saturday hold-up, instead activating a burglar alarm that prompted the suspect to flee.
Anne Arundel County Police officers from the Western District were called to Severn Liquors in the 8200 block of West B&A Road at 8 p.m. Saturday on a burglar alarm.
A store employee told officers that she was working at the checkout counter when a male suspect entered the store. The suspect placed a bag on the counter, implied that he had a weapon and announced a robbery.

The employee refused to comply with the suspect’s demands and activated the alarm. The suspect then fled the store without taking anything.
Patrol officers and K-9 units searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as a tall white man with a thin build, wearing blue jeans and a gray jacket.
