The Maryland War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission is
presenting a series of conferences to familiarize stakeholders with the sites, stories and organizations related to the War of 1812 in Maryland.
Conferences have been held in Southern Maryland, Prince George’s County, the Head of the Bay region, the Upper Eastern Shore, North Point and Baltimore City. The next conference will be in Annapolis on Oct. 24. Participants will meet at the Maryland State Archives.

- Fort Nonsense (site of the only remnant of what was once a chain of forts to protect Annapolis during the War of 1812);
- U.S. Naval Academy (home of several exhibits, monuments and relics of the War of 1812, including the USNA Museum and the U.S. Navy Trophy Flag Collections)
- The Maryland State House (the wooden dome of the state house, the largest in the United States, was used as an observation station for British movements on the Chesapeake Bay during the War of 1812).
