"Rosie the Riveter" Visits Pascal Senior Activity Center

In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, "Rosie the Riveter" will pay a special visit to Pascal Senior Activity Center. Mary Ann Jung will portray the iconic figure on March 31 at 12:30 p.m. The show is free and open to the public.

"Rosie" became closely associated with the real-life Rose Leigh Monroe who worked at the world’s larges aircraft factory, Willow Run in Michigan. During the show, you can discover which came first: the Rosie posters, the Rosie song or the real women working in factories who helped America win World War II.

Jung has portrayed famous women throughout history, from the Renaissance to the 21st century. She has appeared on CNN, the Today Show, Good Morning America and in newspapers around the world. She has been a lead actress and director of Renaissance History and Shakespearean Language at the Maryland Renaissance Festival for 27 years and performed as queen and was a director with the Florida Renaissance Festival from 1994 to 2006. She has also appeared at the National Theatre of Washington, the Smithsonian Institution, the Folger Shakespeare Library and the National Museum of Civil War Medicines among others. Her performances have won her citations and various honors through the years.
