And action! Students at Glen Burnie High School will perform the play Showtime for Oscar by Ray Sheers.
The play is loosely based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Scrooge-like Oscar DeWilder is a scathing theatre critic whose reviews are feared throughout the theatre world, and he is just as mean to his housekeeping staff and his neice, Claire. Then, Davidson Harley (the modern Jacob Marley) appears and warns DeWilder that he’ll be visited by three spirits, each with an attitude. The Spirits of Valentines Present, Past and Future visit and conjure up ghosts from DeWilder’s past to teach him an unforgettable lesson. The play has some unexpected turns, including actors who rewrite the script, a surprise appearance from Tiny Tim, a goat costume instead of a ghost costume and a real ghost haunting.
