Fatal Fire: Unknown Man Found Dead During Glen Burnie Apartment Blaze, Officials Say
Firefighters found a man dead in a Glen Burnie apartment fire, officials said. Investigators are still trying to identify the victim.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Firefighters said they found an unidentified man dead during a Sunday apartment fire in Glen Burnie.
A neighbor called 911 to report the blaze in the 8000 block of Green Orchard Road, a press release said.
Crews said they arrived at the three-story building with garden-style apartments around 7:52 p.m.

Firefighters said the apartment was filled with thick black smoke when they entered.
First responders said they found the unknown victim near the origin of the fire, which started in the living room.

Medics pronounced the man dead on the scene, officials said. Crews did not speculate on his exact cause of death.
Fire investigators are working with the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to identify the victim.
A team of 36 firefighters said they controlled the one-alarm blaze in 10 minutes.
Authorities said they are still investigating what started the fire, which caused $5,000 in damage.
Investigators don't know if the apartment had working smoke detectors.
