Father's Day Superhero: Remembering Super Walt to Fight Cancer

Daughter and friends support American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Anne Arundel County

It’s almost Father's Day, so here’s an inspiring story about a devoted daughter Stephanie Agostinelli who Relays with Relay For Life of Anne Arundel County, MD to honor and remember her dad, aka Super Walt, a stomach cancer survivor who passed in 2013 after many complications following heart surgery. One of his nurses at University of Maryland Medical Center nicknamed him Super Walt because of the way he fought cancer and heart problems in addition to surviving polio. Super Walt ultimately became the Relay team's name. However, Stephanie and her dad had been Relaying since his 2003 diagnosis. Super Walt & Friends has been a top team at RFL of Anne Arundel County for years, raising almost $12,000 in 2018.

Despite COVID-19, their fundraising perseveres; they’ve created many items for the virtual RFL of AA Co. online silent auction. Check it out thru June 30 & support them! https://www.facebook.com/searc...

For more on Super Walt, see www.SuperWalt.com. Here’s an excerpt from Stephanie: “Dad, Super Walt, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2013…From that year forward, I Relay without him next to me but as Super Walt & Friends, he’s always with me! I would love for you to click on https://secure.acsevents.org/s... to join the team or make a donation.” She adds, “I wish I could really express better to everyone what a fighter he was- and a superhero for sure!” #stillattackingcancer #ACS #RelayForLife
