Female Victim Reports Assault In Glen Burnie

An adult female reported that she had been sexually assaulted over the weekend in Glen Burnie. The suspect eventually was captured.

GLEN BURNIE, MD – An adult female reported that she had been sexually assaulted over the holiday weekend in the 7400 block of Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. in Glen Burnie. Anne Arundel County police officers investigated the alleged assault and eventually identified a suspect in the case.

The incident occurred at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 26. The victim told officers that she had been walking along the boulevard near Crain Highway in Glen Burnie when an unknown male began talking to her. He convinced her to accompany him to a “more secluded area” where he removed her clothing and performed a sex act on her against her will, the report said. The victim was able to push him off of her and the suspect left on foot.

After searching the area, an individual matching the suspect’s description was located by detectives at a nearby business. Through interviews and with physical evidence recovered from the scene, the suspect was positively identified as 29-year-old Kevin Arnold France, Jr., with no known address. The Anne Arundel County Police Department has charged him with second degree rape, a fourth degree sex offense and second degree assault. The suspect is currently at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on a no bond status.
