Fire Burns Anne Arundel County Home, Crews Contain Blaze: Reports

A fire burned a home in Anne Arundel County, officials said. Crews contained the blaze, and nobody was hurt.

MILLERSVILLE, MD — A Millersville home burned Thursday afternoon, fire officials said.

Crews announced the blaze in the 8200 block of Mimico South on Twitter at 3:28 p.m. Firefighters said they controlled the flames in about 20 minutes. Nobody was hurt.

Photojournalist Manny Locke reported that the resident called 911 after hearing a pop before the fire. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department is still investigating the cause of the one-alarm blaze, Locke said.

Anne Arundel First Alert tweeted this witness video of what appeared to be the fire. WJZ posted this helicopter footage of the aftermath. The WJZ tape shows that the fire burned through the roof and the outer walls of the back of the two-story, single-family home.
