Flood Warning for Glen Burnie and Surrounding Area

UPDATE: The National Weather Service canceled the flood watch at 9:55 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued a flood watch this afternoon that is in effect until midnight Sunday for portions of central Maryland, the Baltimore Washington area and northern Virginia. 

Expect moderate to heavy rainfall this afternoon continuing into early evening with totals of 1 to 2 inches of rain expected. Locally, higher amounts are possible and could cause small streams and creeks to rise out of the banks.

For residents living in areas prone to flooding, be prepared to take action if flooding should develop.
