AT&T 'Flash Funds' All DonorsChoose.org Projects in Glen Burnie
Teachers and students in Anne Arundel County have something to celebrate today as AT&T revealed it “flash funded” projects listed by teachers on the education crowd-funding site DonorsChoose.org. More than 45 projects were fulfilled totaling nearly $34,000 and benefiting more than 7,100 of the county’s students. Classroom projects ranged from books and pencil sharpeners to tablet computers and a digital camera to frogs for dissection.
“At AT&T, we have a long history of supporting active military personnel, veterans, their families and their communities,” said Denis Dunn, president, AT&T-MD, DE and DC. “That’s why we have an aggressive program to recruit and hire veterans, as well as other programs that serve military personnel and their families. We are thrilled to support these students as part of our ongoing commitment to education through AT&T Aspire. We honor those who serve on Veterans Day and all year long.”
The flash funding in Anne Arundel County is among several done today in military communities across the United States. All told, AT&T is fulfilling nearly 800 projects benefiting more than 83,000 students across the country with a total gift of more than $532,000.

AT&T Aspire is the company’s signature education initiative that invests in students today – at home, in the classroom, at work – to prepare them for success tomorrow. AT&T previously supported several DonorsChoose.org initiatives as part of AT&T Aspire, the company’s $350 million planned commitment to education.
AT&T is honored to serve those who serve. In 2013, AT&T announced that it is stepping up its veteran recruiting efforts with the goal of hiring 10,000 veterans over the next 5 years. Since making that commitment, AT&T hired more than 9,500 veterans and is well on the way to surpassing that goal.
