Glen Burnie Home Sustains $15K Damage In Fire: Official

A child discovered the fire that broke out at the rear of the home, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — The day before Christmas, a Glen Burnie home caught fire shortly before noon. The home, located at 25 Marley Neck Road, sustained $15,000 in damage. No injuries were reported to the residents or first responders. According to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, one of the children in the home discovered the fire before the smoke alarms sounded.

An estimated 30 firefighters responded to the fire, which was reported by several passersby. They found the fire at the rear of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished, according to a report from the department, limiting the damage to a rear mudroom addition and the attic area. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department fire and explosives investigation unit determined that this was an accidental fire. The Red Cross is assisting two adults and three children displaced by the fire.
